Our day started out worshiping at Donn & Cyndie's church, First Free Methodist Church of Gloversville. We were still in the parking lot when we were greeted with some of the 1Gen (youth group) and Vic Manor guys (local half-way house). Reconnecting with Kym and Pete from Vic Manor was great, because we were at Church, which means they were being intentional about their connection to Jesus.
With Pastor Wil Sharpe out of town for an annual conference, Donn was the preacher today. He highlighted the same thing we have in our Bible theme for this week: "My grace is sufficient...my power is made perfect in weakness" - 2 Corinthians 12:9b
Donn also wrapped the importance of the Grace that only God can provide, which not so ironically is also from our team's theme song this week: Never Beyond Repair by Everyfound
A couple of our team members helped fill in for Debbie Sharpe in the Children's Sunday School classroom.
After a quick change from our pink mission team shirts and a bite to eat we headed up to Lake Pleasant in Speculator, NY for a day on the water, Haystacks and Baptisms.
The ski boat was a big hit, Donn has perfected giving the riders on the tube an action filled ride which often ends with some spectacular wipeouts.

But we came to the lake for the Baptisms of Karissa (shown above as her best friend Sarah lifted her up in spirit).
Triumph!
And Veronica!
The lakeside view was outstanding for the 40+ in attendance
Despite a late afternoon thunderstorm, it was a great day with some old friends and new friends. The rain allowed some of us to catch up with Cyndie's parents, Beth and Bill Gates. They talked about the past year, and their family, the past snow storms in NY, the black bears that like to eat the garbage, and their 'new normal' in their first summer without Beth's Dad, "Bop" who passed away last fall.
The youth members of our team just finished up a combined Bible Study with the 1Gen group lead by Chelsea, Andrea and Ben (of C1's college-aged 2ndGeneration).
Tomorrow we have our big VBS setup day and GET to go on our Community wide Prayer Walk. If you are in Gloversville, meet us at C1 at 6:00 p.m. Monday night.
